Your union can help workers transition after a layoff or closure.

Rapid Response services are available for union members and WED can help bring these services to union members.

The Workforce & Economic Development (WED) Program of the California Labor Federation is funded to assist unions and union members prepare after a layoff.

What is Rapid Response?

Rapid Response are workforce services that are available to all unions and workers in California.

Rapid Response services include:

  1. Information and assistance on Unemployment Insurance from EDD.

  2. Guidance on healthcare post layoff - Covered California, Medicare, and Cobra.

  3. Financial preparedness, resume writing, and job search assistance.

  4. Information on food drives, housing assistance, and other hardship aid.

  5. Access to job training and education.

  6. Customized services and resources.

How it Works:

A Workforce & Economic Development (WED) staff person will assist your union to coordinate a Rapid Response session for union members at a date, time, and location of your union’s choosing. Virtual is always on option.
